About PSiRA
The Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSiRA) is mandated by the Private Security Industry Regulation Act (Act 56 of 2001) to regulate the private security industry and exercise effective control over the practice of the occupation of security service provider in the public and national interest.
Vision: To be a recognised world-class private security industry regulator.
Mission: To protect the constitutional rights of all people to life, safety, and dignity through the effective promotion and regulation of the private security industry.
PSiRA is governed by a Council appointed by the Minister of Police. The Council provides strategic direction and oversight, supported by the Executive Management team responsible for day-to-day operations.
